What is an Energy Survey?
If wish to know more about the systems in your home such as the heating, boiler, hot water and it’s general condition in relation to the energy usage, savings you could make and what you can do in terms of sustainability and the carbon footprint, you should get an ‘energy survey’ on the property.
This can include:
- A floor plan of the property.
- A full 360 view of all rooms. .
- An indication of the heating and hot water systems and their efficiency
- Their approximate age
- Ideally we need the energy bills for the last 12 months
- A measurement of any loft insulation necessary and the specification in terms of thickness.
- Advice of other aspects of insulation
- An indication of any grants or funding that may be available
- Suggestions on potential renewables that could be installed including solar and battery storage
- Comments/suggestions on heating such as ASHP (air source heat pumps) Infrared heating etc
- Advice on how the property could be warmer and the energy bills reduced
- Heat loss calculations for the suitability of an ASHP
